European Certificate in Essential Palliative Care (ECEPC)
The European Certificate in Essential Palliative Care (ECEPC) is a highly respected accredited programme designed for registered healthcare professionals from all disciplines involved in the delivery of palliative and end of life care.
This distance-learning course (15 credits at Level 6 study) is suitable for a range of professionals, including medical and nursing staff, paramedics, and allied health professionals.
Developed by Princess Alice Hospice in 2001, the ECEPC provides a comprehensive introduction to the principles and practice of palliative care. Over nine weeks, participants will explore key topics including symptom management, emergency conditions, difficult conversations and communication with patients and families, bereavement and support and ethical issues.
Learning with Severn Hospice
As part of the programme, every participant will be allocated an experienced Severn Hospice facilitator who will provide support and guidance throughout the course, particularly in the development of their portfolio.
