We have received a donation of note this week as organisers of a popular brass band festival presented their latest fundraising efforts.

Members of the committee for the Ironbridge George Brass Band Festival visited our hospice in Telford to present the proceeds from this year’s Charity Gala Concert which featured performances from the band of the Corps of Royal Signals and the Jane Memorial Band.

Along with this year’s kind donation of £2,223 the popular concert has now raised in excess of £30,000 for Severn Hospice since its creation 14 years ago.

Mike Perry, community fundraising advisor at Severn Hospice said: “We are immensely proud and grateful for our continued association with such a wonderful event. Every year hundreds of people enjoy a weekend of wonderful music in the beautiful surroundings of the Museum of Iron in Coalbrookdale.

“I would like to take this opportunity to thank the festival committee, our Broseley Support Group for their contribution, the bands and everyone who attended the Charity Gala Concert for raising such a fantastic amount for our hospice.”
