After months of preparation, we are launching the largest charity shop in Shropshire this Thursday 13 September – and you are invited to our grand opening.

THREE times bigger than our largest high street store with all the quality bargains under one roof – clothes, jewellery, accessories, homewares, furniture, books, CDs, the list is endless…

The superstore, located on Beacalls Lane in Shrewsbury, will have its doors flung open after a ribbon cutting ceremony at 10am by Severn Hospice Matron, Clare Gregory, and Shrewsbury’s town crier, Martin Wood.

Our latest venture was accomplished with the the help of new landlords Paterson Enterprises, volunteers, local residents and businesses who all joined forces to help by getting involved in the refit, donating thousands of items of stock, dressing the shop and stocking shelves.

The 6,000sq ft charity superstore – the first of a kind for Shropshire and Mid Wales – is an addition to our portfolio of 25 award-winning high street shops, including the furniture store on Ennerdale Road in Shrewsbury.

Our shops, which won Outstanding Charity Retailer of the Year 2018, help raise more than £1 million a year to support families living with an incurable illness across Shropshire and Mid Wales.

Head of Retail, Ross Henderson, said: “We are extremely grateful to everyone who has been involved and for the efforts of the Castlefields and wider Shrewsbury community who helped our superstore dream become a reality.

“The need for our services is always increasing and our support extends beyond wards with four out of five of people we care for being looked after in their homes. Having the opportunity to introduce another fundraising stream is invaluable and will help us enhance our community services, enabling more people to live as well as they can with a terminal illness.

“We welcome people to come along to our opening and to support our new project, especially as the store is not only a place to shop – we have a community hub for people to meet, chat and engage with the charity’s work face to face, via iPads, a chalkboard and a TV.”

The superstore is open from Thursday 13 September, six days a week from Monday to Saturday, 9am to 5pm and will be expanding into Sunday trading in the autumn.
