Our fundraising team has been encouraging local women to sign up for the popular walks taking place in May, which this year have the earlier start time of 10pm.
This year’s ladies-only 8km sponsored walks will return to Shrewsbury Sports Village on Saturday 7th May and Telford College of Arts and Technology on Saturday 21st May and women from across the county are being encouraged go pink and join in.
Elodie Home, Fundraising Events Manager at Severn Hospice, said: “Whether you choose to take part in our Shrewsbury walk, or our Telford walk, our Midnight Walks are always tremendous fun. They are a great opportunity for family members, work colleagues and friends to come together to have a good time and show their support for our hospice.
“Now in their ninth year, our Midnight Walks are amongst the most popular events we organise. This year, to keep things interesting and to appeal to more women, the Midnight Walks will start at 10pm so that walkers finish around midnight. We also hope that this enables some of our younger supporters to join in the fun. Girls aged 12 or over are welcome to join in the walks, as long as they are walking with a responsible adult.
“We’ve had a great time promoting the Midnight Walks, it’s always nice to meet new people and find out more about what the hospice means to them.”
Registration for this year’s Midnight Walks is £12.50 per person and each lady taking part will receive a commemorative t-shirt to wear on the night. Women of all ages, from 12 years upwards are welcome to join in; girls under the age of 16 must be accompanied by a responsible adult.
