We’re inviting community-minded business leaders across Shropshire and Mid Wales to swap their desks for prison cells and take on a fundraising challenge in support of Severn Hospice.

Prison Break is a new corporate fundraising event that will see participants ‘locked up’ for the day at Shrewsbury Prison, with only one way to secure their release: raising vital funds for local hospice care.

New event

Fundraising jailbirds will begin the day under lock and key before taking on a series of fun and creative challenges designed to encourage donations from their business networks. Armed only with their devices, determination and powers of persuasion, they’ll need to call on colleagues, clients, friends and followers to help them reach their bail target of £999.

From desperate pleas for freedom to entertaining fundraising challenges, social media will help share their plight as the inmates race to raise enough to make their great escape.

Every pound raised through Prison Break will help Severn Hospice continue providing specialist care and support to local families living with incurable illness, as well as care for people at the end of life.

Bringing businesses together

Holly Gibbons, Corporate Fundraiser at Severn Hospice, said: “Prison Break is all about bringing businesses together, having fun and raising vital funds to support our specialist care. You don’t need to be the boss to take part. We’re looking for people from all kinds of roles and organisations who are up for a challenge and willing to get creative to secure their release. No donations? No parole!

“This is a fantastic opportunity to do something completely different while making a real difference to local families. We’ve got some amazing companies on board, and we’re even sending our own Medical Director in. We can’t wait to see how far they’ll go to earn their freedom.”

Sponsorship opportunities

As well as recruiting potential “prisoners” for the cells, Severn Hospice is also looking for businesses to support the event through sponsorship. Opportunities are available from £500, including headline and networking sponsor packages.
