Good company, a hot drink and a slice of cake can go a long way this October.

Severn Hospice is inviting local communities to come together for Communi-tea Time 2026, a month-long fundraising campaign that turns tea breaks, coffee mornings and cake sales into vital support for local families living with incurable illness.

From workplaces and community groups to friends, families and care homes, anyone can host an event and help make sure hospice care is there when it’s needed most.

To help make every event a recipe for success, everyone who signs up will receive a free fundraising pack packed with ideas and resources, including recipes, invitations, posters, bunting and a fun coffee-themed sweepstake game. They can also download more resources from the website.

Communi-tea Time takes place throughout October, which includes Hospice Care Week (5-11 October), a national campaign celebrating the vital role hospices play in supporting patients and families every day.

Every year, Severn Hospice provides free specialist care and support to around 3,000 people living with incurable illness across the region. Funds raised through Communi-tea Time will help ensure that local families continue to receive expert care and support when they need it most.

“Anyone can get involved in Communi-tea Time, which is what makes it so enjoyable. Whether you’re an expert baker or prefer shop-bought treats, it’s all about bringing people together and having fun while supporting local hospice care.

“Every cup of tea poured, every slice of cake shared and every donation made helps us continue providing compassionate care to local people and their families. The funds raised really do make a difference, so we’d love to see communities across our region getting together and taking part this October.”

Getting involved is, quite literally, a piece of cake. Events can be hosted anywhere, from homes and community halls to workplaces, care homes and even online.
