It was a fairytale ending for more than 300 fundraisers who stepped out in style on Saturday night to support our Cinderella Midnight Walk in Telford.

The promenading princesses – it was a ladies-only event – are expected to raise more than £30,000 when all their sponsorship has been collected and combined with the total raised at our Cinderella Midnight Walk in Shrewsbury last month.

Hannah Gamston, Fundraising Officer at Severn Hospice, said: “It was a fabulous fundraiser with tiaras and tutus in full effect as people really joined in with the spirit of the event. And I’m delighted to say there were no pumpkins in sight when we’d all finished at midnight!

“We rely so much on people’s generosity, not just the sponsored walkers and their supporters but all the volunteers who helped us stage this event and the one at Shrewsbury, so thank you to everyone who stepped forward to help a great cause.”

Hannah added: “Every penny really does count so please remember to pay in your sponsorship money. You can pay it in online, drop it in to one of our hospices or shops, or send it to us in the post.”

“Fun events like this are just one of the ways people can support a local charity that does so much to help families in Shropshire and Mid Wales and it’s because they care that we can,” she said.
