When you buy tickets, you support families facing heartbreak – families just like Elaine’s.

This Christmas will be the first one Elaine spends without her beloved husband, Tony.

Together for 34 years, they enjoyed travelling, spending time with daughters Izzy and Lauren, and making memories like every family.

Last November – just weeks after returning from a holiday of a lifetime and looking forward to retirement – Tony was diagnosed with incurable pancreatic cancer. He was just 59 years old.

He passed away at our hospice in Telford nine weeks later.

Thanks to supporters like you, we were able to make Tony feel comfortable, safe, and surrounded by kindness . He was able to come to terms with his diagnosis and the family had the space and time to make treasured memories. Over Christmas, Tony stayed at Severn Hospice while the team managed his pain. 

“Our family will always be grateful to the staff for the exceptional care they gave Tony and the compassion they showed all of us,” said Elaine. “They helped make the unbearable bearable.

“Before Tony became ill, we didn’t really understand what a hospice did. Like so many people, we never imagined we’d need one. But when we did, Severn Hospice was there for us.

“His peaceful room became a place where we could simply be a family. There was space for us all to sit together, an Alexa playing his favourite Classic FM, and doors opening onto a beautiful garden where we found moments of peace.”

When you buy 20 raffle tickets, you could help fund an hour’s complementary therapy session and if you buy 30 raffle tickets, you could help fund an hour’s physiotherapy.

Tickets are £1 each and on sale until 11 December 2026. The draw is on 18 December 2026. Players must be aged 18+.

Winning entries will be selected using random number generator software. All winning prizes are paid by cheque.

Every penny of your support helps Severn Hospice, with 69p from your lottery £1 going directly to patient care. We use 12p for prizes and the other 19p for promotion and administration so we can continue to help families who need our help (based on financial accounts for year ended 31.03.2025). In 2024/25 £826,368 went to Severn Hospice Ltd as well as over £31,000 in donations. The likelihood of winning a prize, based on our Christmas raffle draw 19.12.2025 is a 1 in 2,465 chance: the patients we care for win with every £1 ticket bought.
