tami-before10-year-old Tami Turner decided to give our hospice a very special gift this Christmas and has had her head shaved at her school to raise money for our hospice. Tami lost her lovely golden locks on Friday 16th December at Belvidere Primary School’s Christmas Assembly in order to support families that need our help.

Tami generously decided to fundraise for us because her Grandad was cared for at our hospice in Shrewsbury and her Great Nanny and her Aunty Evelyn were cared for by our Hospice at Home team.

Tami says on her Just Giving Page: “The reason I am doing this is because they have helped a lot of my family when they have most needed it.”

When her Grandad was being cared for at our hospice in Bicton, Tami came to visit and enjoyed playing on the outdoor equipment and sitting in the garden. Tami’s Great Nanny and Aunty Evelyn were cared for by our Hospice at Home team and the family were very grateful for the support they received.tami-head-shaven

Tami has raised £1,048, exceeding her target of £1,000, which is a wonderful achievement. If you would like to contribute to Tami’s Just Giving page and support our hospice please click here.

Not only is Tami donating all of the funds from the appeal to the hospice, she is also donating her hair to the Little Princess Trust, which makes wigs for children throughout the UK and Ireland who
have lost their hair to cancer treatments and other illnesses.

We couldn’t continue to help families throughout Shropshire and Mid Wales without the support of people like Tami and we would like to thank her for helping to ensure we’re there for the next person that needs our help.
