Volunteer in our gardens
Our volunteers maintain and create a wonderful experience in our award-winning gardens. Recognised by the RHS as ‘Outstanding’ for the last seven years, our teams make that happen with all the tasks they do – planting, pruning, trimming and cultivating the plants around the gardens to keep them in tip-top shape throughout the year.
They maintain our kitchen garden and orchard, providing nature-fresh ingredients for our kitchen chefs as they prepare home-cooked meals for our patients.
Our woodlands are bursting with flowers, along with nest boxes and bug hotels built by the volunteers to encourage our fauna to succeed in the landscape. We also monitor activity for the British Trust for Ornithology and Buglife Conservation Trust.
To have repeated our ‘Outstanding’ success, we have proved our horticultural excellence and our dedication to encourage wildlife to thrive
We are also lucky to benefit from ongoing partnerships with volunteers from external organisations who undertake corporate days at the hospice to further enhance our gardens.
