Dine Out and Donate is a fundraising event that takes place during
November and December, when participating restaurants add
£1 to the bill at the end of their customer’s meal to be given to Severn Hospice. Diners are made aware of the donation by a small, attractive table card, provided by Severn Hospice. The customer is also given the opportunity to donate more or not to participate at all.
The £1 donation is made by adding a charity button to the restaurant’s till; this is very simple with modern tills. Our experience has shown that that this does not affect staff tips. VAT is not an issue as the £1 is added to the bill after the service charge. This fundraiser has already been working in several restaurants in the area with great success |
