GIFT AID DECLARATION FOR UK TAX PAYERS :

What is it?

A government allowance to registered charities requiring the Inland Revenue to reimburse the tax paid, within any one year, by supporters making direct donations.

What is it worth?

To the charity, 25% added value to your donation e.g. a donation of £100 with gift aid reclaimed is valued £125!

To the donor, it costs nothing, and those who pay tax at the higher rate of 40% can claim a rebate in their annual tax return of the difference between base rate and higher rate.

Companies or organisations

Paid income/capital gains tax in past year, equal to 25% of amount donated

Non tax payers

Personal donations received by the Hospice, directly from an individual

Donations from more than one donor (eg funeral collections or gifts in lieu of presents for birthdays/ anniversaries and group)

Gift Aid Declaration signed with full home address & postcode

Legacy bequests

All donations from which the donor receives no benefit

Purchase of items e.g. Christmas cards, tickets for events
