Complementary Therapy Department

Complementary Therapies are offered to in-patients, day care, patients and to those people who prefer to access our Day Hospice Clinic Day on a Wednesday .

The department is lead by two part-time complementary therapists and we also have a team of therapists available, many of whom generously donate their time here in a voluntary capacity (See Volunteers page)

What we offer

Various therapies are available including Aromatherapy, Head Massage and Reflexology, which can all lead to a huge improvement in quality of life for patients such as: -

Relaxation

  • Reduction in anxiety, tension and stress
  • A real sense of well-being
  • Feelings of calmness and tranquillity
  • Help with pain relief
  • Reduced tension or pain in muscles and joints
  • Help with digestive problems such as nausea and vomiting or constipation
  • Improved sleep patterns
  • Increased energy levels

How can I be referred?

Enquiries can be made by patients, their carers and healthcare professionals by contacting Sue Williams or Helen Tazewell on 01743 236565 ext. 565 following which a referral to the Hospice from your GP would be required.

Appointments are relaxed and informal.

Our therapists are happy to discuss how Complementary Therapies may be able to help, so feel free to get in touch and find out whether you or your family could benefit.
